Course history

Introduction

The following coursework requirements must be approved for the student to take the exam:

  1. A one-page outline of the topic and the structure of the essay is required.
  2. A reading list of self-chosen literature
  3. Attend at least one supervision

The outline and reading list must be approved by the course coordinator/course teacher/supervisor within a set deadline. If the outline is not approved the first time, the student may submit a revised version within a second, set deadline.

Required preliminary courses

The exam is an individual written report of 4000-6000 words, excluding the front page and reference list.

The exam must be written in either English or a Scandinavian language.

The exam can be appealed.

New/postponed exam:

In case of failed exam or legal absence, the student may apply for a new or postponed exam. New or postponed exams are offered within a reasonable time span following the regular exam. The student is responsible for registering for a new/postponed exam within the time limits set by OsloMet. The regulations for new or postponed examinations are available in regulations relating to studies and examinations at OsloMet.

A student who fails or has legal absence in the ordinary exam, may submit a reworked version at a re-sit.

No formal requirements over and above the admission requirements.

Permitted exam materials and equipment

All aids are permitted, as long as the rules for source referencing are complied with.

Plagiarism will be penalized, so adhere to the university regulation.;

Grade scale A-F.;

Examiners

The exam papers are assessed by one internal and one external examiner.; At least 25% of the exam papers will be assessed by two examiners. The grades awarded for the papers assessed by two examiners form the basis for determining the level for all the exam papers.
