BÆR6200 Sustainability perspectives in your own teaching Course description

Hensikten med emnet er at studenten skal utvikle sin yrkesdidaktiske kompetanse for å sikre yrkesrelevant og oppdatert yrkesopplæring i tråd med fagfornyelsen og utviklingen i egen bransje i et samfunns- og bærekraftperspektiv.

Emne «Bærekraftig utvikling i eget yrke» eller tilsvarende må være bestått få å kunne avlegge eksamen på BÆR6200.

After completing the course, the student is expected to have achieved the following learning outcomes defined in terms of knowledge, skills and competence:

Knowledge

The student can

• describe the specific area of specialisation
• explain approval procedures for research projects and relevant approval bodies for these

Skills

The student can

• protect privacy (according to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)), including safeguarding consent to the collection of personal data and confidentiality
• cooperate and contribute in a research environment and describing the research group’s activities
• perform allocated work independently
• conduct different types of literature searches
• formulate a research question that can be investigated and written about in a bachelor's thesis
• plan, conduct and document a study, a project work, or a care or training measure
• collect and process data
• use the IMRAD model in reporting and referring according to the current APA standard
• act in accordance with relevant guidelines for ethics/ethical principles

General competence

The student can

• demonstrate research ethics and relevant criticism in accordance with academic standards
• exchange professional opinions and experience and contribute to the development of the field

The course is taken full-time over 18 weeks, two of which may comprise a theoretical introduction. Through cooperation on research activities, the students will have the opportunity to specialise in an area of psychology and in their specific area of interest/project.

The students will also work independently on the bachelor’s thesis. A supervisor from among the department’s staff will be appointed for each student.

• Submission and approval of an outline for the bachelor’s thesis
• Participation in organised supervision (min 80%)

All required coursework must be approved before the student can submit their bachelor’s thesis.

Individual bachelor’s thesis with a maximum scope of 8,000 words

On application, students may be permitted to write the thesis in pairs. This is on the condition that they have collected the data together and use these in the thesis.

If the bachelor’s thesis mentions information about people and/or their behavior, OsloMet and the Department for Behavioral Sciences' current rules for privacy and consent must be observed.

It is required that the thesis be written in whole or in part from a behavioral analytical perspective. For theses that are written based on a subject field other than behavior analysis, it is expected that the thesis contains an account of and discussion of behavior analysis in relation to the thesis' subject matter.

All aids are permitted, as long as the rules for source referencing are complied with.
