Course history

Introduction

Interaction design is an interdisciplinary discipline in which experts from several disciplines are involved in the development process from idea to final product. Product design, graphic design, anthropology, communication and cognitive psychology are included as subject disciplines in addition to information technology.

In the course the students will get to know these subject areas, but the practical work will be limited to the development of prototypes, user testing, evaluation and some graphic design.

Learning outcomes

After completing the course, the student is expected to have achieved the following learning outcomes defined in terms of knowledge, skills and general competence:

Knowledge

The student is capable of:

  • different prototyping techniques
  • user-centered design
  • Research through Design
  • sketching / drawing techniques, simple graphic design, shape and color use
  • general design principles for good user experiences. Emotional design
  • theories of communication, basic psychology, observation
  • tools for making interactive prototypes (digital tools, Arduino, sensor technology)

Skills

The student is capable of:

  • be able to work out ideas in teams and make decisions
  • be able to produce interactive prototypes using simple means (paper) and more advanced digital tools
  • be able to use knowledge of form, color and graphic design in designing products
  • be able to describe goals for usability and user experience
  • be able to perform user tests and use the results in further development of a product
  • be able to use known evaluation methods (heuristic evaluation, cognitive walk-through)

General competence:

The student is capable of:

  • working on the development of concepts for given issues
  • testing ideas on users through early prototyping
  • communicating ideas to other designers, developers, management, users and clients

Fagfordypningen i kroppsøving og kroppsøvingsdidaktikk består av to emner à 15 studiepoeng. Emnene

er Fagfordypning i kroppsøving og kroppsøvingsdidaktikk 1 (SKUT4323) og Fagfordypning i kroppsøving

og kroppsøvingsdidaktikk 2 (SKUT4324). Til sammen skal emnene gi studentene avansert kompetanse

knyttet til kroppsøving og kroppsøvingsdidaktikk.

SKUT4324 bygger videre på SKUT4323 og skal gi studentene inngående kunnskap om teoretiske

perspektiver på bevegelse, fysisk aktivitet, kropp og læring. Emnet fokuserer på kroppslige læring,

inkludering og mangfold..

Course requirements

The following coursework is compulsory and must be approved before the student can sit the exam:

  • Three compulsory group assignments (3-5 students). They make up three deliveries that build on each other and that must be approved in order to pass the course.
  • Complete two courses/ micro-courses from Makerspace, edX, LinkedIN Learing, or similar provider.

Assessment

Exam form: Portfolio assessment. The portfolio shall consist of a total of four parts:

  • A group report (normally 3-5 students) of 15-20 pages describing the development process and showing theoretical and practical skills.
  • The three compulsory submissions will also be processed and included in the folder.

One overall grade is given for the portfolio.

The exam result can be appealed.

In the event of resit and rescheduled exams, another exam form may be used or a new assignment given with a new deadline. If oral exams are used, the result cannot be appealed.

Permitted exam materials and equipment

Følgende arbeidskrav må være godkjent før eksamen kan avlegges:

  • 80 prosent deltakelse i undervisning som er tilrettelagt som seminar.
  • Studentene skal i grupper lage en presentasjon som bygger på utvalgte artikler eller kapitler i pensum og legge denne fram for medstudentene (ca. 20 minutter).
  • Studenten skal innen fastsatt frist levere en skisse på 1800 ord +/- ti prosent for masteroppgaven. Gjennom arbeidskravet skal studenten se emnet i sammenheng med masteroppgaven og vise en forståelse for hva som er faglig relevante temaer å arbeide videre med. Når skissen for masteroppgaven er levert, vil studenten få tildelt veileder for masteroppgaven.

Seminarene preges av studentaktiv undervisning som tar utgangspunkt i dialog og skal understøtte studentenes øvelser i kritisk tenkning, selvstendighet og refleksjon. Dette fordrer tilstedeværelse.

Grading scale

Individuell muntlig eksamen på ca. 30 minutter. Det legges vekt på evne til å kunne trekke linjer, få frem

perspektiver og kontraster og å se sammenhenger mellom tematikkene i emnet.

Ny/utsatt eksamen

Ny/utsatt eksamen arrangeres som ved ordinær eksamen.

Examiners

Two internal examiners. External examiners are used regularly.
