Introduction
The students shall in an independent, systematic manner carry out a practical project based on a client’s requirements. Depending on the nature of the assignments, the students shall demonstrate that they are capable of using their knowledge of, for example, the evaluation and analysis of computer systems and user requirements, system modelling and design, the development of user interfaces, user testing or product development. They shall prepare detailed documentation of the question or product they have chosen to work on, and describe their own work process in an expedient manner based on given standards. The course builds on most of the subjects up to and including the fifth semester.
Required preliminary courses
The students must be registered in the third year and have passed at least 100 credits by 1 October to be assigned a project for the bachelor’s thesis.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student is expected to have achieved the following learning outcomes defined in terms of knowledge, skills and general competence:
Knowledge
The student is capable of:
- explaining how projects are managed and how progress is ensured
- explaining the different stages of a development project and their importance
- explaining the structure of final documentation
Skills
The student is capable of:
- developing project and work plans
- evaluating, analysing or developing user interfaces
- performing user tests or engaging in product development together with others
- preparing final documentation of the preferred work process for the project, in accordance with given standards
General competence
The student is capable of:
- cooperating on an extensive computer technology project that culminates in an end product comprising both computer programs and documentation
Teaching and learning methods
Project supervision. Project work in groups. The groups normally comprise 3 to 4 students. The students shall carry out a project corresponding to the scope of the course, preferably for an external client. Detailed information and deadlines for the different phases of the project work will be provided on the course’s web page and in the teaching plan that is announced at the start of the semester. A selection of workshops and seminars.

Assessment
Exam form: Project assignment in groups (3-4 students)
The project assignment is divided into the four parts ‘product/result’, ‘process’, ‘documentation’ and ‘presentation’. The final grade is given on the basis of an overall assessment of the four parts.
The exam result can be appealed.

Grading scale
This course advances the student's understanding of the strategy process, content and context. The purpose is to develop individuals that can hold staff positions or consultants within the areas of strategic analysis, planning and strategy process design. Knowledge and skills obtained in this course will be practical and useful in organizations where strategy implementation and organizational change is a part of the challenge.
