Introduction
The aim of the course is to provide the students' knowledge about the European Union, the European Economic Area and some international business law.

The course is related to other law courses.

Learning outcomes
Knowledge
The student has knowledge about
- the objectives of the European Union, its legal sources, its institutions and the decision making.
- the relation between EU law and national law.
- the institutions of the EEA and the decision making, the EEA market and the four freedoms.
- law of competition - and public procurement, international business law.
- the formation of contracts, sale of goods, damage law, and market laws

The student
- has skills within the relevant legal issues
- can deal with legal challenges in professional situations
- can work well in international teams
- can analyse legal questions
- can present and discuss legal problems
Competence
The student
- can apply their knowledge of EU law , EEA law and international business law
- can function well in most professional international situations

Teaching and learning methods
There are approximately 45 hours of instruction. The pedagogical approach includes:
- Lectures, group work, discussions, case work
- Student presentations
- Independent study
Regular attendance and active participation in classroom activities are expected.

Assessment
At the end of the spring semester an individual 4-hour written exam will be held.
Grading scale
Letter grading A-F.
Examiners
In addition to the instructor, an external examiner will be used for the exam. The exam questions will be approved by an external examiner.
