Are you worried about oral exams? Here is how you can become more secure
Here are some tips that can make you more secure, both before and during oral exams.
Ingunn M. Nilsen works at the Learning Support Centre at the OsloMet University Library. She gives students advice about study techniques. Here are Ingunn’s advice for you who are preparing for oral exams.
- Practice on possible subjects and questions in advance. Look at earlier tasks, and work with other students. Have a “Practice Oral”.
- At the exam:
- Note keywords if the questions gets long and complicated.
- Ask if you are unsure, or if you forget the question.
- Pauses aren’t dangerous: Take a deep breath, drink water and take a moment to think and continue.
Remember: The examiner usually wants to get the best out of you.
