Near-departure guide for exchange students

• Exams & transcripts: Ensure all exams are completed and order transcript of record. If you have legitimate absence or fail an ordinary examination, you are entitled to a new or postponed examination. This exam will take place later the same semester or early in the subsequent semester. You must register for the new or postponed examination in Studentweb. Registration for and withdrawal from an examination - HiOA - Student - minside. Please note that your transcript of record will not be sent to your home university automatically. You need to inform your coordinator if your home university requires that the transcript is sent directly from OsloMet to them. You can order a digitally signed Transcript of Record through StudentWeb (fsweb.no). The transcript will contain all the courses you have completed and passed at OsloMet. If you need a paper copy of your transcript, you can contact the student information center at your faculty. 
• Library books: Make sure to return all borrowed materials to the university library to avoid fines or penalties.
• Declaration of departure: If you need a document signed by your coordinator at OsloMet, please do not wait until your departure. Contact your coordinator in advance.
• IT access: Your OsloMet IT account will be closed 30 days after you have finished your studies. This includes access to Microsoft 365, Canvas or any other platform you had access to at OsloMet. Please remember to download or transfer files and e-mails you don't want to lose to a private account.

• Move-out inspection & cleaning: Follow your housing provider’s checklist to avoid extra fees.
• Keys: Return all keys, access cards, and/or laundry cards on time.
• Deposit return: Ask your housing provider about the timeline for receiving your deposit.
• Phone or any other subscriptions: Cancel or transfer any subscriptions before departure.

• Bank account closure: Contact your Norwegian bank to close your account and transfer remaining funds.
• Insurance: Confirm whether you need to cancel your travel/health insurance.
• Taxes & work: If you worked in Norway, check your tax situation and final settlement.

Donate or sell items: Use local platforms sucha as finn.no or donation points to sell or give away furniture, clothes, or bikes. You can also donate items to exchange students who will come to OsloMet next semester. We accept clothes, kitchen appliances and utensils, pillows and duvets, towels, small electronics. Anything you donate must be in good condition and clean. You can deliver your donation to the student center at p52 on weekdays between 10:00 and 14:00.
