About the study place

Humboldt-Universität is a public university in the central borough of Mitte in Berlin. The school’s main campus is located on the well known Unter der Linden boulevard in central Berlin. The school is divided into nine faculties and offers over 189 different degree programmes.

Berlin is the capital of Germany and the country’s largest city with around 4 million inhabitants. While Berlin is certainly a large city, around a third of the city’s area is covered in woods, parks, gardens, rivers, canals and lakes. There is no shortage of things to do here, there is something for everyone. In addition to all kinds of facilities, Berlin is known for its high quality of life, and has been repeatedly ranked as one of the best cities in the world to live in.

The university has left its mark on the world through its renowned and groundbreaking Humboldtian model of higher education. This model has had a major impact on other European and Western universities. As a student at this university, you will follow in the footsteps of many famous researchers and thinkers. For example, Albert Einstein, Karl Marx and Hegel all have connections to this university.
