Technische Hochschule Köln is a university of applied sciences with a focus on technology, science and design. It is the largest German university of applied sciences with regards to number of students. The school’s main campus is located in the central Innenstadt borough of Cologne. TH Köln offers a wide range of courses, with over a 100 different degree programmes.

Cologne is the largest and most populous city in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia with around 1,1 million inhabitants. The city is located in the western part of the country along the river Rhine. Cologne is most known for its medieval cathedral, the tallest cathedral in the world, one of the most visited sites and pilgrimage destinations in Europe. With over 30 museums and hundreds of galleries, Cologne has become a regional cultural center. Every year a number of trade fairs are arranged in the city’s Koelnmesse, one of the largest venues for trade fairs in Germany. Because of its location, Cologne has a mild climate and is one of Germany’s warmest cities.

TH Köln is concerned with producing cultural and technological breakthroughs with a high societal relevance and contributes to solving social challenges. This is possible because of the school’s disciplinary and cultural diversity. There is also a focus on internationalization as TH Köln has students from over 120 different countries.

In order to have 30 ECTS credits approved at OsloMet after the exchange, you must take 30 ECTS credits at this institution.
