About the study place

Fachhochschule Kiel is a German university of applied sciences based in the city of Kiel. The school offers around 40 bachelor's, master's degrees and other study programmes. The school offers studies in agriculture, computer science and electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, media, social work and health sciences. The main campus is located by the waterfront in Kiel.

Kiel is the capital and most populous city in the northern German state of Schleswig-Holstein. It is located about 90 kilometers north of Hamburg and about 95 kilometers south of the Danish border. The city's location southeast of the Jutland Peninsula and on the southwest shore of the Baltic Sea has made Kiel one of Germany's major maritime centers. A number of well-known international sailing events are held here, including the annual Kiel Week, which is the largest sailing event in the world.

As a student at Fachhochschule Kiel you get a unique chance to study right at the waterfront. The school’s main focus is on delivering high-quality teaching, which is interdisciplinary, application-oriented, based on research and science, and characterized by internationality and the use of various methods.
