About the study place

Université du Luxembourg is a public university based in the small country of Luxembourg. The school is the only public university in the country. The university has locations in Luxembourg City and Esch-sur-Alzette, and has three faculties that offer studies in science, technology and medicine, law, economics and finance, and finally the humanities, education and social sciences.

Luxembourg borders Belgium to the west and north, Germany to the east and France to the south, with a population of just over 600,000. The country's largest city and capital is also called Luxembourg and is one of the EU's four capital cities. Esch-sur-Alzette is a town of around 36,000 inhabitants located about 20 km southwest of Luxembourg City and is located close to the French border. According to international surveys and rankings, Luxembourg is among the 20 best countries offering the highest quality of life worldwide. This is due to the natural environment and the cozy small town feel, as well as the security, political and economic stability of the country.

Université du Luxembourg is a multilingual university, teaching in French, German and English. At the school's language center, you as a student can take several language courses. This is a world-class research university, which strives for excellence in research and in education.

In order to have 30 ECTS credits approved at OsloMet after the exchange, you must take 30 ECTS credits at this institution.
