About the study place

Hogeschool van Amsterdam (AUAS) is a large Dutch university of applied science with over 40,000 students. The school offers over 70 different degree programmes in business, media studies, sports and nutrition, health, social work, law, technology and education. HvA has several locations spread around Amsterdam.

Amsterdam is the capital and largest city of the Netherlands with a population of around 900,000. The city is known for its beautiful canals, architecture and vibrant nightlife. It is sometimes referred to as "Venice of the North" due to the large number of canals in the city. Feel free to take a canal cruise to get to know this exciting city or explore the city by bike. Amsterdam has more bicycles than cars on its roads. The city has a rich history dating back to the 13th century and is thus a great place to get to know Dutch art and culture.

AUAS educates tomorrow's professionals in a wide range of fields and disciplines. The school has a clear focus on applied sciences, which enables AUAS' students, lecturers and researchers to develop groundbreaking knowledge and innovations.
