Buddy Week Program
Important information
As a new student, you’re automatically assigned a Buddy group. You do not have to sign up. Activities are not mandatory, but we recommend joining!
If Buddy activities collide with mandatory classes, always make going to class your priority.
In the event of any changes to this activity plan, your Buddy will keep you updated.

OsloMet welcomes all international and exchange students starting their year. Buddies will welcome their respective students during the meeting and come back later for a welcoming ceremony for the students (with Norwegian blind food tasting and Norwegian quiz)

Welcoming Ceremony
A mini ceremony to celebrate the incoming of international students. Activities include Speed Friending, Norwegian Blind Tasting and Norwegian Quiz.

Activity Day and Park Grilling
Students gather at the park to have activity bonding with physical games and/or relax at the park with grilling and some grill food!

Welcoming party and concert for all OsloMet students at Chateau Neuf – The Norwegian Student Society.

Munch Museum visit/Game Night
Students get a free tour inside one of Oslo’s most prestigious namesake museums featuring “The Scream”. Afterwards, the party will go to Oslo Street Food/ Food Court to enjoy food from one of Oslo’s landmark food spots.
Alternatively, students can opt for a more relaxed vibe with game night. In collaboration with OsloMet Gaming (student association at OsloMet), plenty of games will be available, play with your group or join others. Expect a variety of board games, card games and video games.

Student association day in Pilestredet 52.
Buddies will take you there at a convenient time (when you’re not in class). Student life will be more fun if you join a student association. On this day, you can visit the stands of every student association at OsloMet and find one that suits your interests.

Paint and Sip.
Channel your inner creator to design your own fabrics. Maybe you would like to create your own OsloMet merch? You can give your custom designs or choose from our selection of stencils. You must bring your own fabric or anything you would like to use; examples are t-shirts and tote bags. We will provide the materials and guide you on the process. Feel free to bring your own drinks (non-alcoholic) and snacks if you’d like to.

Karaoke + Party
Friday will be the official end of buddy week and we will book a place just for us, we’ll start with karaoke first. We will also visit one/more of Oslo nightclubs!

Island Trip
We will visit Langøyene to conclude the Buddy Week in a trip to one of the islands. Grilling and relaxing is a must!
