Learning outcomes
On successful completion of this course students are able to:
- identify and discuss various theories and methods in science and design research
- identify, discuss and evaluate ethical implications of scientific and professional work
- select and employ relevant research theories and methods to specific cases
- discuss and justify the relationship between problem, methods and conclusion
- integrate academic scientific methods in practice based and creative research
- plan and complete own research projects

The most important teaching and learning methods for this course are lectures, seminars, group work, self-study, studio work and tutoring.
Course requirements
- Attendance of minimum 80%
- One written assignment
Assessment
Individual or group [1] portfolio examination, which consists of:
- a written assignment outlining the product concept
- design process documentation
- a physical 3D product
- a reflection paper
The examination result can be appealed against.

No restrictions
Grading scale
A grading scale of A (highest) to F (lowest) where A to E is a pass grade and F is a fail grade.
Examiners
Two internal. External examiner is used periodically.
