Introduction
This course is a refinement and nuancing of basic and higher-order concepts from research on respondent and operant conditioning introduced during MALKA211.
Required preliminary courses
Coursework requirements from MALK4000-401, MALK4000-403 and MALKA211 or equivalent must be approved to participate and submit coursework requirements in MALKA212.

- describe and discuss core concepts from research on operant conditioning

- can identify in practical examples the terms of the operant paradigm

- can describe and exemplify a functional analysis of behavior
- can describe selected experimental research that has been foundational in the development of behavior analysis as a science
Content
Teaching and learning methods
Teaching and learning methods include lectures, exercises, oral presentations and discussion of reading materials. The lectures will partly be based on interteaching sequences using literature from the curriculum. Internet-based exercises consisting of programmed instructions will be used.
Course requirements
The following required coursework must be approved before the student can take the exam:
- 3 individual written assignments, each with maximum 6000 keystrokes
Assessment
Individual written examination with invigilation, 4 hours. Exam questions are in English. Students may submit their exams in Norwegian, Swedish, Danish or English.

Grading scale
Grade scale A-F
Examiners
One internal and one external examiner will assess all exams.
