Construction work in Studenthuset, Pilestredet 52
Studenthuset, Pilestredet 52 is being rebuilt because the Department of Art, Design and Drama will move in. This is how the construction process might affect you during the fall semester.
Lecture halls/rooms
Planned teaching in the building will proceed as normal. Some classrooms have changed names and numbers, and this has been updated in the lecture schedule.
Room overviews are updated with equipment overview and pictures.
Studenttorget - for all student related questions
Studenttorget (the Student Centre) is open for all questions you may have as a student. There may be construction work outside the building, but don't let that scare you. You are most welcome to come in with any questions you might have from 5 August.
Other student facilities in the building
The canteen, “Annas spiseri” opens for students and staff 12 August.
The student unions will have new premises on the 1st floor, which should be open and ready from 12th August.
A brand-new studio room for practical student work is located in room A141, this will also be available from 12 August.
The construction work
The first floor of the building will be open and ready for use, but work will be in progress on the floors above some time to come. During the construction period, technical facilities will be adjusted and upgraded, and challenges with air quality or other technical installations may occur. Such technical errors will be corrected as soon as possible and continuously.
There will also be some construction noise at times. Significant noise will be announced in advance.
