Making the master's thesis available in ODA

When a master’s thesis has been published in ODA, it can be retrieved in Google Scholar and other search engines. The thesis can also be found in Oria.

Why make your master's thesis available in ODA

As a researcher or a student, you depend upon access to other scientists’ research such as master’s theses, articles and other research output. The availability of content is made possible by solidarity in the research community and by each researcher granting access to their publications. OsloMet encourages students and staff to deposit their work in open repositories like ODA (oda.oslomet.no).

OsloMet would like to publish all our students’ master’s theses. The only requirement is that the candidate has successfully passed the examination. ODA has no layout requirements, and the thesis is harvested from Inspera.

Exemption from publication in ODA should only be made when information in the thesis is subject to confidentiality, or refers to confidential company information. We would still like to receive these theses, but we would attach an embargo period which in some cases would be indefinitely. The embargo period is chosen when submitting the thesis in Inspera. If you have questions regarding publishing your thesis on ODA please send an email to oda-kontakt@oslomet.no

How to get your thesis published in ODA

How to submit your thesis

OsloMet uses Inspera as a submission portal for the master theses and home examinations. To make your thesis available in ODA, it would have to be approved in Inspera. The student administration will, when the examination process has been completed and the closing date for submission of complaints has passed, send all theses that have obtained a passing grade to the University Library.
