Lecturer of the year
Nomination deadline: 1 June
The prize should be the students' way of showing that they value teachers who possess good dissemination skills and maintain a high academic level. The award will highlight and premiere professors, lecturers, trainers and tutors (hereinafter referred to as teachers) who are distinguished by their professional skill, inclusion of students and good communication skills.
Assessment criteria
The teacher must excel within one or more of the following areas:
Planning/ Preparation

Planning well with regard to schedule, room booking and the like.

Make teaching materials available to students, and provide students with good opportunities to be well prepared

Is well prepared for the lectures
Teaching

Has good communication abilities

Has a well structured teaching plan

Varied teaching; uses various (digital) learning tools and teaching methods

Includes students in the teaching

Good knowledge of the academic community and is well updated in the subject
Engagement

Helps to create a good learning environment

Engaged in what they are doing
Guidance and follow-up

Includes students and student representatives in evaluations of the course

Provides good and quick feedback on questions / comments

Is a good supervisor

Available to students
Nominations containing frivolous statements will not be considered.
Nomination
All students affiliated with OsloMet can nominate teachers from OsloMet. The prize will be awarded to a teacher who is permanently employed at OsloMet.
The prize is owned by the Student Parliament and it will be coordinated with the student of the year. The nominations will be considered by a jury consisting of:

One from the Executive Committee of the Student Parliament

A student from each faculty, who is elected at the general meetings
-
An external student representative
