Information about elective courses in the Master’s programme in Health Sciences

Here you will find information about subjects you can choose as a student in the Master's in Health Sciences, as well as which subjects are open for application as a single course student.

During your studies on the Master's programme in Health Sciences, you will choose one or more elective courses.

Starting from the fall semester of 2024, some specializations will have a period for elective subjects in their curriculum in the fall semester, and some will have a period for elective subjects in the spring semester. Which semester applies to your specialization is listed below. There, you will also see which subjects are offered for the fall semester 2024 and spring semester 2025.

Please note! The Faculty of Health Sciences will each year evaluate which elective subjects will be offered per semester and which subjects will be published before the elective subject period. Therefore, note that the plan for which subjects are offered in the spring of 2025 is not final and there may be changes in the number of subjects offered. This will be published during the fall of 2024.

In addition to the subjects listed on this website, a number of subjects that are elective subjects from the various specializations in the Master's in Health Sciences will be available. It will also be possible to choose subjects from other study programs and faculties. Which subjects this will be will be posted in Canvas. For possible subject registration for these subjects, we ask you to contact us via the online form information about this is also posted in Canvas.

Please note! The Master's in Nutritional Competence for Health Personnel is a specialization that must choose 3 elective subjects in the fall of 2024, but note that this is the last year that 3 elective subjects are required.

Course selection

The subject selection takes place in the period 03.06.24 at 09.00 until 00.00.14.06.24. Registration is done via the student web. User guides will be made available via canvas.

Single subject admission for external parties without study rights in the Master's in Health Sciences

The subjects that are open to students without study rights in the Master's in Health Sciences are listed below. The period for admission is June 3, 2024, with a final application deadline of August 1, 2023. You apply via the application web. You can only apply for one subject per semester. We encourage you to apply for admission as soon as possible and preferably before July 1.

For elective courses as part of the Master's programme in Health Sciences 

If a subject does not get more than 20 registered students, the subject can be cancelled according to the program plan. If this happens, you will be contacted and offered to register for one of the other subjects.

  • The timetable for the subjects will be published around June 1. A specialization should have more than one elective subject, and it is your own responsibility to check whether it is possible to combine the completion of the chosen subjects.
